With odds stacked against him and no clear path or direction Corey "Homicide" Williams turned his dreams of being a professional basketball player into reality. Corey's love for basketball started at an early age as he played high school basketball for Rice High School, a New York city hotbed for talent. Corey's experience at the powerhouse high school was a challenging one as he was overlooked due to his other talented teammates. That experience hurt him as he received little to no interest from big time division 1 colleges. Corey would spend 2 yrs at a community college in Kansas before attending Alabama State averaging 13 points at the small Division one University his senior year. After college was done Corey knew his dream was to play professionally but no one paid him any attention once again. "Everybody wants the guy who can play now.Nobody wants the guy who needs to develop" Williams said. Williams knew he was a late bloomer but was more determined than ever. Williams would send highlight tapes to agents, and attend camps
all in effort to market himself.It was tough for williams as some of the camps were money scams, and very few agents were eager to take him as a client.In 2005 Corey would play in competitive tournaments around New York city. Corey played in nine summer tournaments and recalls having 3 games in one day. Corey played tremendously eventually getting the nickname "Homicide" because he was destroying all his opponents all summer long. The buzz around this underrated player began to spread and surfaced when he scored 47 points in a famous tournament known as the Entertainers Basketball Classic. The televised game hit the eyes of the NBA's own Toronto Raptors organization who invited him to tryout for the team. Williams now went from playing in parks to trying out for an NBA franchise. Williams would make it to the last round of cut before being released only due to a former player who recovered from injury. "Let's see what I can create out of not making the NBA' I got this close. Few people ever get the opportunity to go to a training camp, much less make an NBA team. I take the positive out of  every negative situation and continue to move forward"

Williams states. Williams success would come shortly as he played in the NBA Development League, CBA, and made his way overseas in the National Basketball League in Australia were he won a League MVP in his last season. Things only got better for Williams as he was approach by a sneaker company called k1x who would sign William's to a contract and launched his signature shoe. Williams would be the first non-NBA player to have his own signature sneaker sold around the world. At the age of 36, Williams is still going strong playing in Europe and living out his dream as a professional athlete. But what Corey wants people to get out of his story is "that it wasn't easy". "So many guys start with big hopes in school and either their coach gets fired or they fall out of the rotation and now they're stuck, it doesn't mean they can't play they just low on confidence". The Bronx native is a mentor to many, to most who know him and are friends on Facebook or twitter you will see his coined hash tag of #famousnobodi. That describes his success under the radar. In a facebook conversation Williams states "Charles, You can make it coming from the playground, it is not easy, there will be tough times and no guarantees but, it can be done if you want it bad enough". With no agent, no clear path, Corey Williams defied the odds and made people notice him and has made a successful career out of it.

The 2013-14 UNE softball season will be an exciting and competitive one according superstar pitcher Lauren Doneski

 UNE  softball pitcher Lauren Doneski  has a great feeling about her teams chances to win it all. "I think were going to be a very strong team this season. Our schedule is very competitive" say Doneski. The Nor'easters softball team is returning twelve players and potentially six freshman. The team has shown strong chemistry according to the star pitcher. Coach Dan Letellier has his girls ready and confident. "I think he is approaching this season differently than last year, pushing us harder than ever before" says Doneski. The team has shown strong chemistry through a recent trip to monkey trunks where they did a ropes course for team bonding. Lauren in her second year on the Nor'easters softball team is looking forward to the challenge of competing with her teammates.

Lasagna is a dish that many pasta fanatics love but what's unique about the unconventional pasta is the special ingredient,Weed. Edible marijuana is distributed more throughout your body than smoking it which is perfect for those using it for muscle pains but bad for those who aren't. The key to mastering edible marijuana is knowing the right amount to put in your food which is specific to everyone along with knowing when to use the ingredient.  Eating too much marijuana can lead to paranoia and dizziness according to a Canada Medical Marijuana.Eating raw marijuana won't have an immediate effect, it needs to be activated by heat. Marijuana is consider a fat soluble and needs a fat or an oil to be cooked with for the best results. The idea of eating marijuana has been around for a very long and medical experts have studied civilizations who have presented this drug as edible for its health benefits.

Nude Picture causes Football coach to resign (class article)

Western Maine football coach resigns  on February 7th after inadvertent nude picture on Internet alarms parents and faculty

Paul Withee resigned from Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School after a parent came across his nude picture on facebook. Seeing the picture, the parent contacted school administration who where forced to take action due to school policy. Luckily no students were friends with Coach Withee and weren't able to view  the post. Withee insist the picture was not intended for  public display but for private view to a friend. Superintendents Rick Culpitts  although convinced Withee's facebook post was a mistake made a statement saying "Even when its a mistake, there is still consequences, that is the story here". Withee has coached for 19 years and was a math teacher prior to his resignation."I'm embarrassed, I'm ashamed, I'm humiliated" says Withee in the after math of his post.

USM students speakout (breaking news story)

Univ. of Southern Maine's frequent rapping's have caused student to spread flyer's due to campus securities lack of action.

Flyer's where handed out  and placed on car windshields informing people of the chronic rapping's that no one seems to be taking action towards until today.  University of Southern Maine Students banded together to find the rapists who has raped approximately 57 girls without being caught or punished. Campus security but nothing has been done. The flyer's informs the students, residence, and faculty of the effects the rape victims have face along with the lack of initiative by campus security. Multiple of the students who reported being raped have dropped out of school, while others have shown a decline in academic performance. The Portland area has been on high alert as to no real evidence of what the rapist look like have been revealed.Sources say that Portland police may have a lead but haven't leaked it as of yet due to some uncertainty.

Reports that the University has not given any information and fail to abide by the Clery Act.
There has been one lead reported that many of these rapes are closely connected with the Delta Chi Fraternity which has not been confront even after multiple reports. Delta Chi has been reported to have sold alcohol to minors and along with the use of drugs to rape females. The threat  of student safety is being a significant issue and if wont be long before the state gets involved .

             The hidden sex images and words in Disney movies are missed by many but sells sex to  all viewers.Disney seems to have a provocative hook for viewers.
Disney movies have been childhood favorites for many years but are they exposing children to issues prematurely. Movies like Lion King , Little Mermaid, and The Rescuers have been examined and points out to the naked eye what might not be seen while watching these Disney classics. In Disney's movie the Little Mermaid the cover seems harmless but taking a closer look the golden castle seems to have a depiction of a penis in the center. After this discovery was found out and made public many of the newer versions of this movie have blurred out the image.

                                                                                       The profound images pose a threat to parents whether they know it or not. Two Disney movies Lion King and most the recent movie Tangled both present the subject of sex to its young viewers.  Tangled ,released in 2010 is based off of the famous story of Rapunzel. In an advertisement for the making of the movie, The image of Rapunzel wrapping up the character Flynn in her hair was place on build boards and buses. The image at first seems harmless but taking a second look, the word sex is spelled out in the "entangled" hair.The story of Rapunzel is about a young girl being sheltered in a tower and eventually is rescued and now views the world with her rescuer who is known as a thief.  The message that sheltered girls should experience life and potentially have sex can be subliminally encouraged in an ad like this. Parents may not be ready to have the sex talk with their young children who watch these movies but maybe Disney movies are prematurely forcing the issue. The Lion King shows a back shadow of a lion but taking a more detailed look a topless girl with a thong can be seen right under the words "The king has Returned". The messages that can be derived from these movies can cause a lot of issues among parents and adults who send their kids to these movies. If only they knew what they are looking at. These images may seem to be a coincidence but

are they really? It's been thought that early Disney artist have secretly,and creatively put their names on their drawings considering the only credit that was given for these motion picture were given to Walt Disney himself. The times have changed and now credits acknowledge everyone involved in films but now it seems the artist have gone to far and made a mockery of the viewer in order to sell its product. To many cases of recent and old Disney movies have cause speculation and the idea that Disney isn't the only one selling sex like this can start to question the cartoon industries clean credibility.
